Is Your Child Up to Date with Vaccinations?

Did you know that vaccinations prevent as many as 5 million deaths annually? At

Monarque Health & Wellness Center, our team of pediatric care specialists helps your youngster take advantage of those benefits, starting from early childhood.

Many of our patients come to us saying they’re not sure if their children are up to date on their vaccinations. Today, we explore that question and give you the info you need to protect your child’s health, now and throughout their life.

When does my child need their first vaccinations?

The vaccination schedule for children starts at birth. Your child typically has their first vaccinations in the hospital, and then they receive follow-up vaccinations at their regular well-child checkups.

How often does my child need vaccinations?

Children have most vaccinations in their first few years of life, but they need other vaccinations as they age, including in their teenage years.

The vaccination schedule from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is based on age and is highly complex. While the CDC does recommend the ideal ages and intervals to have vaccinations, these guidelines acknowledge that many special circumstances may lead to unique variations among children.

Some children may need a different vaccination schedule than others based on their health, history, or when they had their last vaccinations.

How will I know if my child’s vaccinations are up to date?

At Monarque Health & Wellness Center, our pediatric care specialists monitor your child’s health at each visit. We go the extra mile to keep parents up to date on their child’s vaccination needs.

If your child is due for any vaccination, we discuss it with you ahead of time, explaining what the vaccination does and how it benefits your child before administering it.

We take your child’s unique individual needs into account and design a specific vaccination schedule for them based on the CDC’s specific recommendations.

Which vaccinations will my child need?

The CDC’s recommendations for children’s vaccinations include:

Some children may need other vaccinations as well, based on their individual health needs.

Benefits of staying up to date on vaccinations

Vaccinations protect your child’s health by using the most powerful disease-fighting weapons. They can prevent your child from becoming seriously ill, and could even save their life one day.

In addition, vaccinations are required for school, sports, camp, and other activities. Making sure your child is up to date means they can have an active life without the looming threat of preventable diseases.
